Following Trendmood1 on instagram is downright dangerous for a beauty lover’s bank account. However, though the price of some of the lavish retail therapy shopping trip I still contend to browse this instagram profile multiple times a day looking at all the newest in beauty. Seriously if you love beauty then you need to head over and follow this profile now!
A few weeks ago I was browsing and say the Chanel Illuminating Powder was available before it actually launched. Not like I needed another highlighter but seriously this is hands down gorgeous. Seriously like Fairy dust. Chanel Camelia De Chanel Illuminating Powder is one to marvel at. I truly hated to even swatch it due to how beautiful it is, but after knocking some sense into my self I swatched it then fell in love.
Let me preface with you have to love glittery highlights to like this one. The shade is simply divine and will work on my skins. I have used this as a blush topper and highlighter. It continues to amaze me at how beautiful it looks on the skin. Depending on which brush you use you can achieve a subtle glow to intense highlight.
Chanel CAMÉLIA de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($70.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a light, golden beige with warm undertones and a soft, sparkling sheen. There is both fine more luminous shimmer and slightly larger sparkles. There is more noticeable sparkles in this product than others on the market. Typically I recommend being careful with these because super sparkly shimmer can emphasize large pores and texture. However, I can’t help but want to do a full face highlighter challenge with this one.
I think the pigmentation is spot on and it holds up well with my oily skin. On my skin to blends into the skin well and seriously gives my skin the goddess glow. I get so many compliments on my makeup when I wear this highlight. I will say it’s easy to go a bit crazy with this one so I wouldn’t recommend using with a heavy hand. I had a swatch picture that is coming soon, I couldn’t find the one I took so will be reshooting it.
Yes it is very pricey at $70 for .21 oz of product, but I feel it’s unique enough to be worth the price. The rose shape in the packaging is very high-end. You really don’t have to use a ton so I feel this product will last a long time. I feel that due to the shade and quality of this highlight it is worth it. I have heard some say the glitter is too much, but to me with correct application it’s just right. Just take a moment, isn’t it gorgeous? Have you tried this highlighter? What are your thoughts? It appears it is sold out but keep your eyes out for this one!
