Let’s talk Tanya Burr Cosmetics. I am sure you have heard this name floating around YouTube for years. Tanya Burr is a well-known makeup artist in the UK. For months there have been rumors of her cosmetics collection coming out. As a makeup artist I have looked up to her for years and couldn’t wait for her collection of makeup to launch. She created a small collection of face and eye products at drugstore prices. I did have to order this online from a company that ships to the US. However, surprisingly it look only about 2 weeks to receive everything and thankfully no items were damaged. I wanted to really try out this brand so I picked up a face palette, 2 eye shadow palettes, a lip gloss and matte liquid lipstick.
The Peachy Glow Cheek Palette is really nice overall. I wouldn’t hold it up against some of my Makeup Geek products, but overall I like it. The shades are really nice and all the products are really soft. As with most drugstore products you have to build up the color but I find this palette performs well for the price point. The style of the palette is very cute. I love that on the back Tanya has application tips for those that need guidance with using these products.
Peachy Glow Cheek Palette $11.04
Beach bronze
Apricot flush
Champagne shimmer
The Enchanted Dream Eye Palette is similar in design to the Cheek palette. I will say the cardboard packaging does seem nice and there is no fun house mirror in here! There are some really nice every day shades in this palette, but they are not as pigmented as I would like to see. Cocoa Plum is my favorite shade in the palette. It’s a simply gorgeous shade but it’s not really unique.
Enchanted Dream Eye Palette $8.28
Moonlit walk
Cocoa plum
Berry soufflé
Magic carpet
The Birthday Suit Eye Palette is my favorite of the 2 eye palettes. I simply adore Marzipan! I love using this shade as a highlight shade for my lid, brow bone and inner corner. What I find is that you can get an every day basic look with this palette. It’s more on the neutral side, but can be built up to more intense if desired. All of the shades are super soft and easily blendable.
Birthday Suit Eye Palette $8.28
Marzipan
toast
Cocoa sugar
Soft truffle
I am a big fan of liquid lipsticks and have tried so many different formulas. I like the texture of this lipstick but the color is horrible on me. I didn’t anticipate that it would be that bright. Rhubarb & Custard is a pretty color just not one for me. What I do love about the design of the container is that for the matte liquid lipstick the tube has a matte appearance.
Matte lip: Rhubarb & custard $8.27 (right)
Lip gloss: Lunch Date $8.27 (left)
Lunch date is super pretty! I love the shade of this lip gloss and it is super pigmented. The formula is a sticky one but is one that I don’t mind. Overall this is a hit in my opinion!
Overall there are a few hits and misses. The eye palettes can be an issue if you are not careful. You can blend the shades all together and it becomes a muddles mess. I love the lip gloss and certain shades in the eye palettes as well as the cheek palette. Due to these not being products I will use on a normal basis I will pass them along, but they still are great products from the drugstore. Have you tried anything from this collection?
