Most of us that follow popular YouTube Beauty Gurus have heard of Manny MUA. I know I have and find him to be hilarious and really talented. After stalking the beauty news I knew he would be collaborating with Makeup Geek at some point, but was ecstatic to learn it would be sooner rather than later. I admit, palettes can be a bit trick, but if you have followed me for some time you know I am hyper critical of palettes. I look for palettes that are “stand alone” being that you could go on a trip and just take that one palette for your eye shadow needs. It’s rather hard to find palettes of this greatness but they are out there. Wondering how this palette holds up to the hype surrounding it? Then check out some swatches and my thoughts on this palette!
Is it sturdy? Yes and it comes with a rather nice mirror. In line with other Makeup Geek products this doesn’t come in metal packaging. However, it is a nice quality on it’s own. Lucky for the warm tone lovers this palette is totally what I would consider warm. It’s equipped with everything from a warm burgundy shade to mid-tone browns. Not to mention the Gorgeous highlight shades! I could live for the highlight shades, they’re intense and I love it! Let’s look at some swatches shall we?
Beautiful right? Overall the shadows perform beautifully and consist of some permanent shades and some new ones. I love most of the shades, but probably am only disappointed by one. Let’s start with the one disappointing shade and end on a good note. The one shade I am disappointed in is actually the shade I felt would be my favorite, Mars. From the pan it appears it will be a deep rich color, but that thought sets you up for failure. In reality it turns out to be more of a pink than deep red burgundy. It’s still a pretty color, just not what I expected. Now my favorites in this palette are Luna and Aphrodite. Luna is absolutely a stunning highlight shade! I just love using it to brighten my inner corner and brow bone. However, warning to those that tend to have a heavy hand this is not a shade to play with. It’s really pigmented and needs to be used carefully. Aphrodite is just such a unique shade that I had to mention it. It is simply gorgeous and can be deepened or lightened by mixing other shades from the palette.
Overall these are some really nice shadows! I have used these for a few weeks and simply love this palette! It is limited edition and has sold out so many times. However, if you can get your hands on it, then do so! I 100% would recommend this palette and feel it lives up to all the hype surrounding it.
