Drugstore Brush Kits are pretty uncommon in terms of them being of great quality. Normally they are a complete waste of money, but one brush line that is readily available at ULTA, Wal-Mart, and some other stores rises above others. What I think is the most important things in buying a brush kit is making sure you can use every single brush. After all if you buy it just for one brush it really is a waste of money.

- Base shadow brush
This brush is absolutely amazing! What I find it does it best is applying cream shadows. If you are a MAC paintpot user then you will so understand the following issue. When you use a paintpot it is hard to sometime get the product on the sides and is difficult to apply when older and not as creamy. This brush allows you to get the most out of the product and really applies cream shadows amazingly. I find if you tap the shadow on the lid then blend it with this brush you can really see a fabulous result. This brush is a staple in my collection and is one that you really need if you like cream shadows.
- Deluxe crease brush:
This brush does exactly what it claims to do. I love using this brush to blend out NYX jumbo crayons and shadows that often stain other brushes. The synthetic brush hairs on this brush enable you to deal with all the messy products and still be able to apply them with precision. I am really able to round out the edge of my shadow with this brush and overall I am super impressed with it.
- Accent brush:
This brush is perfect for all the precise detail work on the eye! If you feel that brushes are just too large for the detail work on your eyes, then this one is prefect for you! It performs fabulously at placing pigment in the inner corner and dragging it down and also smudging out liner for a sultry look. The Accent brush maintains its shape even after washing which helps you maintain precision work after wash after wash.
- Pixel-point eyeliner brush:
I admit this brush claims to be a great eyeliner brush, and it is larger than what it looks like in the picture. I find it to be too large to use for applying eyeliner. What I typically use the Pixel-Point brush for is my top lash line when I want to really smoke out looks. It works great at smoking out looks when you take a bit of darker shadow and work it over already drawn eyeliner.
- Brow brush
Yes this serves a great purpose for applying powder to your brows, but what I find it is most efficient for is using it along with cream concealer. In fact this morning I used it to clean up my winged liner that went a bit crazy. The point on this brush allows it to be used in so many ways.
This kit also comes with a case for travel and storage. My main point is that if you are someone looking for brushes on a tight budget then check out Real Techniques. I love most of their brushes and have many in my collection. After really testing this kit out I fully believe it is a great buy. Happy Thursday!
