After tons of contemplation I decided to give Birchbox another try. I was suppose to get the May box, but something happened and mine was lost in the mail. In my opinion Birchbox has amazing customer service and credited my account for the next month. What I remember about Birchbox the first time I tried it is that I received products that I was not happy with and had nothing to do with the survey I filled out on my preferences. This was my reasoning behind canceling my subscription in the first place. After seeing fellow beauty bloggers talk about how Birchbox has improved, I thought it would be worth it to at least try a few boxes. Of course if I decide I am not happy with it, then I am able to cancel at any time. The reason this post is super late is that though my box shipped the beginning of June, shipping is super slow and I didn’t get it till the end of June. So let’s take a look at my June Birchbox!
SPF 50 Sport- Fresh Mango| Full-size retails for $32
I have used this brand for almost a year now. I particularly like their face sunscreen due to it really lasting on the skin. I have not used the classic sunscreen, which is what this one is, so I am super excited to try it out. Summer is the perfect time to test new sunscreens! Do I think a full size is worth $32? Well if you are looking for organic suncare, then I say go for it. If you are someone that believes that sunscreen is sunscreen, then I wouldn’t worry about buying this one.
Waterproof Eyeliner| Full-size retails for $11
This liner claims to be blendable and stay put all day. It is this beautiful navy blue color, which I have absolutely no use for. I was super excited reading the card thinking I would be getting a black liner, and was completely let down when I saw it was blue. I am not an eyeliner adventurous person mainly because with dark brown eyes black, brown and purple is all I go for. I am not able to tell you my thoughts on this because I will be passing it along to someone else.
Super Comb Prep & Protect| Full-size retails for $32
This product is sulfate-free, botanical-rich leave-in conditioner that safeguards color, strengthens, and nourishes. The problem with products like this is I find it is hard to actually see a difference. However, I have no doubt it is doing something great for my hair. The full size of this is pretty pricey and I find there are other brands at this price that may be better, so I won’t go out and buy a full size of it any time soon.
Luminous 3-Minute Peel | Full-size retails for $30
I first thought this was an actual peel mask, which is not the case. It is an acid-free peel that you swirl around to gently exfoliate skin for instantly softer, smoother, and brighter skin. Does this live up to it’s Claims? Yes, it actually does. I love how smooth my skin feels after using this product.
Ibuki Gently Cleanser| Full-size retails for $30
Love, love, love! I have actually tried this before and already knew I would love it. What I find about this cleanser that sets it apart is that it is a Richly foaming gel that dissolves impurities and oil while retaining skin’s essential moisture. The claims are true with this one. Normally my cleaners leave my oily skin feeling dried out, but this one moisturizes as it is cleansing the skin. If you are someone that loves splurging on higher-end cleansers then this one is worth a try!
BONUS
Hair Tie| Pack of 5 retails for $13
I love fabric hair ties. I love that they don’t cause my hair to break near as much with standard hair ties. This one is a beautiful dark red color. I was so excited to see this was the bonus in this month’s box!
What would I give this box out of 5? I would give this one, probably a solid 3. I definitely want to see a few more boxes before deciding on keeping this subscription. Have you tried Birchbox? If you are interested click here to get your own subscription!
