KathleenLights on YouTube has been someone I have followed on YouTube for over a year. When I saw she collaborated with ColourPop Cosmetics to release Where the Light is set of 4 shadows, I knew I had to have them. This kit retails at only $20.00! Which brings the continuation of my infatuation with ColourPop. As expected these also fall right along with my high expectations for this brand.
I do want to mention that most see this as a quad of shadows, but this is actually just a set of 4 individual shadows. I personally like that they are separate so that I can store them along with my other single shadows. This set comes with the following finishes: 1 Metallic, 1 Pearlized, and 2 Matte shades. I find these shadows apply best using your fingers, primarily due to the unique texture of these. Let’s look at some swatches!
Blaze is the only metallic finish shadow in the kit and is simply gorgeous. This is honestly my favorite shadow in the kit. The best I can describe, it is a warm brown shade with gold glitter throughout. The glitter does make it a little harder to work with that the others. This shade is so glittery and unique which makes it stand out from the rest of the shadows. Overall I would rate this shadow a 7 out of 10.
KathleenLights is a gorgeous amber toned shadow. I will say as far as application, this one applies the smoothest of all of them. It is an absolutely gorgeous shade and is the only pearlized shade in this kit. This shades applies the easiest out of all of these and is super pigmented. Overall I would rate this shadow a 8 out of 10.
Cornelious is the brown of the two matte shades. I like the color of this shadow and it is creamy. However, I find this shades is my least favorite of all of the shades. Why? Well simply because the pigmentation is not as good as the other shades. I had to in fact build up this one much more that the others just for the swatch. This was definitely not a “1 and done.” Overall I would rate this shadow a 5 out of 10.
Glow is exactly as the name describes, it is glowy yet matte. This shade is perfect for the inner corner highlight for those not looking for a highlight shade, minus any glitter. This shadow delivers “insta-glow” that will work on pretty much all skin tones. Overall I would rate this shadow 8 out of 10.
Overall this kit is amazing other than one shadow. I think this kit is worth it because it does contain some amazing shades and is limited edition. For the price, in my opinion this kit is so worth the money. ColourPop shadows are only $5 and are worth it. I personally would spent upwards of $20 just for a shade like Blaze or KathleenLights. Have you tried anything from ColourPop?
