Something I have become accustomed to while growing up in the south is not seeing too many days where the temperature falls below 38 degrees. However, what I really would have said in the past about seeing icicles here was they would have a “snowballs chance in hell of surviving.” Well with temperatures falling way below freezing and not warming up above 32 it appears pipes burst and what normally would be horrific has created a very intriguing site in this small town.
Talk about winter.
1. It is so cold for us here. Those that experience these kind of temperatures often are probably better equip with dealing with the frigid temps.
2. Wind you totally are a live saver in the summer when it is 110 degrees, but this week you have totally sucked.
3. This site will teach us all to wrap pipes up before the temps drop to below 20!
4. The good news is that this has inspired me to get some actual winter clothes. Most of the time I can wear short sleeves most of the winter, but for sure this has not been the case this week.
5. Even though ice can cause accidents and many other issues, it is rather pretty to look at right?
As this situation is literally finally melting away, I do think about all of you that are drenched in snow and ice still today. I know I see tons of pictures on instagram and in blog posts and I constantly wonder how you do it? I mean as I was taking care of dogs last night and freezing my butts off, I reminded myself why I live in the south. I love warm weather, sweet tea, flip flops, and the whole shebang. All I can say is bring on the coffee and hot chocolate until this place warms up.
