Makeup style is different with everyone. Perhaps I may like a more smokey eye makeup look, but the woman next to me may never wear dark eye shadows. There is nothing wrong with that, in fact I think it helps establish who we are in this world. The questions is what is your makeup style and furthermore what does it say about you? How does makeup boost confidence? Who do you look to for all of your makeup inspiration?
Natural, smokey, intense, light are all words that describe makeup. Everyone likes different things depending on many factors. For instance someones eyes being “hooded” can cause them to apply shadows differently.
I personally love wearing the slightly contoured, smokey eyes, natural lips kind of face. I have large eyes so I find that I can get away with wearing lots of black liner. I go for dramatic looks that are on the neutral scope of things. Due to my job I am not really able to wear bold colors or bright lips. I do not really like to wear bright red lipstick, but I am all about some vampy lips. Can I say I just love fall due to how people bring out the deep dark lipsticks. To make things perfectly clear though, while I do love vampy lips I am not planning on picking up Limecrime’s black colored lip products. Something are just too dark for me.
I find that makeup can set the stage for different settings, for instance when I go to big business meetings I do contour more than normal and I define my lips more than normal due to it giving me the confidence to better defend my points. Call me crazy, but it just boosts my confidence. I feel the saying is true that if you look good, then you feel good. I do switch up my makeup daily and rotate my collection to use products equally. This is how I justify spending money on makeup constantly.
As far as who inspires me when it comes to makeup I would have to say Jaclyn Hill. She is a makeup artist that I have followed for years. She is a huge YouTube beauty guru, and if you are wondering why just look at these!
Hope you enjoyed this post today! I do love experimenting with my makeup style, but find I stay towards the neutral but dramatic side of things! Also, most of the pins above are videos so if you are interested in seeing the videos just click the pin to watch! What makeup style do you lean towards?
