Watching devastating Weather.... - Southern Beauty Guide

Real life horrific events on television often catch my eye. Since I was a child I often found the weather interesting. In college I even experience living in areas prone to tornadoes. In fact the year before I got there half of downtown, including the hospital had been wiped out by a tornado. I found shortly after living in this town I became use to tornado sirens going off. I always find myself watching the weather and really fascinated with storms. I mean look at this footage from a tornado earlier this week in North Dakota. How crazy were these guys for being so close to this tornado!

Even when I was a small child the thought of being a storm chaser and chasing tornadoes did cross my mind. This week the weather channel has shown all sorts of documentary type programming about tornadoes. Being a weather and history buff I have watched them religiously. This week they have been really educating people on how tornadoes work and how to stay safe.

I remember my senior year in college watching the news when a tornado hit Tuscaloosa. While I couldn’t imagine what they were going through I did pray for strangers’ safety. I really wanted to share this to make you all aware that tornado season is upon us and if you are not educated on them that it’s time to read up.

I found so many things out this week that turned my beliefs in safety precautions into myths. What I thought could save my life was changed. My point is that each year we learn more about storms due to advancement in technology and so it’s important to learn as much as you can so that if you find yourself faced with a tornado that you will be prepared.

I pray that all living in areas prone with these vicious storms stay safe as we head into another season of bad weather.
