Blogging panic attack!

There are some situations in blogging that cause much distress. Recently I received an email saying that it was time to renew my domain that I have hosted through google. Well that would not have freaked me out as bad as when I went to login to my admin account like I do my email account, it saying invalid login!
Yea that is a pretty accurate account of what I looked like as I was having a panic attack. I started researching how to fix this and thinking of maintaining my domain if I switched hosting sites. Needless to say my mind was reeling and I was not sure what to do. Well come Monday morning I saw that Christine was online to chat, I remembered that she had a custom domain and thought I would ask if she could help.

Well Christine came to the rescue this time! Seriously guys she saved my butt big time! I has this random thought after fixing my account that I am sure there are others out there that experience this. Well I thought that I would share what Christine sent to me to help me! It is kind of wordy, but trust me it works!!

“First, you need to recover your account password. You can do so by copying on this link https://admin.google.com/yourblogn…/ForgotAdminAccountInfo and adding your blog url after google.com/. For instance, if your blog url is abc.com then you would need to type: https://admin.google.com/abc.com/ForgotAdminAccountInfo

You will be asked to enter a captcha and then the system will send you a password recovery email to your secondary email address, which is the same one to which I’m sending this email to.Once you recover the password, it will ask you to change it and enter a new one. With the new password, you can then login to your Admin console atadmin.google.com using your Super Admin account. If you bought the domain through Blogger, the user name will be bloggeradmin@yourblogname.com and you will be using the corresponding password you just changed. If this does not work, you will need to remember your user name for the Super Admin account.

Once you gain access, you will be asked to update your billing. Please do so to ensure your domain gets renewed. You may need to access your Billing profile and set the Domain Registration subscription to Auto Renew. You can do this by going to the Billing page from the Admin console, and checking the Domain Registration. You will see a blue ‘Change’link that will allow you to do this (one of the options should be to Auto Renew the domain.)”

After following all of the steps above my account is now set to auto-renew, so I will not have this issue in the future! Thank goodness for great blog friends like Christine that will help you when you need it most. If you haven’t checked out Christine‘s Blog I highly recommend you do!
