Mineral Makeup?

Mineral makeup is something I have played around with for years. I find that you can get a flawless look from this and even full coverage. While I do have oil skin I find that I can use some mineral products. I do enjoy mineral setting powder and eye shadow. The lovely Krista from Root sent me a package full of goodies to try out and review! I have to say that finding a makeup company that is USA based and even has all makeup bags made in the great state of Georgia makes me super happy! I had the pleasure of testing out the Setting Silk, Mineral Bronze Powder, and Pearl Powder Mineral foundation. I picked out Shade 5 in foundation, but the bronzer and setting silk are their standard shades. If you are unable to match yourself with a correct foundation shade, I am sure that the ladies at Root will be happy to help. 

I have to say that the standout product for me is the Setting Silk. I find that it is great at setting my under eye concealer. It is a finely milled powder that gives off a luminous glow. I really have enjoyed using this product and fund the sifter actually works great. I will say that as always you must be care with anything that is in loose form. The foundation actually blends in well with my skin tone. I find that you can get about medium coverage with this foundation. 

As far as the bronzer goes I feel that it is a great bronzer, but I find that this color does not work with my skin tone. I find it turned muddy looking on my skin, however, I am sure that those of a different skin tone will find this works for them. 

I will say that the key to applying these is using a kabuki type brush. I love the product cards that come with it do give users excellent descriptions for how to use them. I truly find it interesting that you can turn the foundation into a liquid. They also say that you can use the foundation as a concealer. So as a sort of all-in-one product I find this amazing. 

Overall, I feel that these a good products and I hope to try out more from Root. They actually just released mineral eye shadows which is super exciting! Make sure you all head over and check these out!
