Wow were has the time gone? Well I thought that leading up to Christmas would be the perfect time to share with all of you what I have up to lately in terms of crafts. I personally am a huge fan of crafts, and I love making my own stuff. I feel that sometimes giving gifts you make is better than giving something you buy from a store. Well if you have people in your life that love arts & crafts then I seriously recommend you check into Darby Smart. Darby Smart’s kits that include everything needed to make what you would like. The boxes start at about $20, but considering this includes all of your supplies it is a great deal!
I chose to make the Moroccan Tile coaster set! I honestly did not know what to expect, but this was super easy and quick.
The box comes with a easy guide to quickly make. Since it was so nasty outside on the day I made these, I chose to do them inside and used on hand plastic that I keep around for painting crafts. This took me about 20 minutes to create them, and I allowed additional time for them to dry. Basically I started by gluing the cork bottoms to the tiles and then came the fun part. As you can see in picture #2 there is an entire sheet with designs for you to choose from. I next cut the design out and using on hand tape I taped it to the center of the tile. I then sprayed it gold and pealed off the stencil and repeated this on the others. As shown in picture #6, if you happen to have any smudges with the gold it is easy to clean up with q-tip. Then once they dry just brush on the mod podge and let that dry. I left these about 30 minutes without moving them and they turned out gorgeous!
