Hello Lovelies!
I have been trying to come up with my favorite way to store my makeup for a long time now. Nothing just ever felt right! I have a small space so finding the best way to store my extensive makeup collection is a must. As mentioned in previous posts I have given a ton of my makeup away. In fact I pretty much cut my collection in half, giving the products that I do not use to my mom. Anyways, a while back I just finally gave in and came up with a plan of how to organize my stuff. I know that on YouTube this is one of the most highly requested videos that makeup artists get asked to film. I think when you are trying to come up with your own organization method it is great to see what others use. I know that I pretty much just pulled ideas from a variety of Makeup artists and molded them to work for me. I will say that my organization items were rather expensive, but I do not regret buying them what so ever. The items have truly made my life easier and I am absolutely in love with the way I have organized my makeup.
The Spice rack I originally found on Urban Outfitters, but it was prices at $40, so I went on a mission to find the same one but cheaper. I actually was lucky enough to find the exact same one on Amazon for a about half the cost. I use this to store 8 e/s palettes, 6 foundations, Mac Fix+, Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, UD De-Slick setting spray, this odd-shaped Eye liner from the brand called Cailyn, and Ben Nye Banana Powder. I am honestly very happy at how much this one organizes my makeup. I never expected that this would store so many items. I originally planned on using it for palettes only, but decided that it also could hold all of my foundations. It does come with hooks at the end, and I am using those to hang things like tweezers. I simply have this item hanging up bedside my makeup desk. I think it is cute and is a great item to use in organizing your collections.
The Tool Turn-About was actually the last item that I ordered. I had watched videos on YouTube to come up with a way to store my makeup brushes. In one of the videos I watched, the makeup guru used this turn-about thing from Pampered Chef. Well I wondering how expensive it would be and how to even get my hands on one. I mean I have no clue who sells Pampered Chef stuff in my area. Well I suddenly remembered that Betsy, one of my sponsors and blog friends, was a Pampered Chef Rep. I immediately got on Google Chat and asked her if she knew what I was talking about. About 3 seconds later, she messaged me back saying that she knew exactly what I was talking about and sent me the link. I must admit that I was expecting it to be extremely expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cost and immediately ordered it. As someone that has 50+ brushes I was in need of something like this. I must way that I think this is my favorite organization piece that I ordered! It has a ton of slots and three levels that easily organize all of my brushes. I think my favorite feature is that it spins. Which is great because of where I have set it. I have it on my makeup desk, and it is very easy to just spin it to get the brush I need. I highly recommend getting this regardless if you are organizing kitchen, office, or makeup stuff.
Next, the Muji 5 Drawers were on my list of things to get. Holy mess acrylic drawers are expensive regardless where you get them. I think that the shipping was what made these seem to cost so much. I actually ordered two of these 5 drawer sets and I have everything from Mac MSFs to Lipstick in these. These are perfect for storing all kinds of things, but the are not deep enough to fit something like a Mac Paint Pot. I must mention that they were shipped quick and packed better than I have ever had anything packed. I swear tearing into these I seriously think ninja skills would have been helpful. However, the quality of these is unmatchable. The acrylic is super thick and I can see why they are so expensive. Overall, I love them. They honestly organize a ton of my makeup. I love that they are clear and I have the ability to find the product that I am looking for without having to open a ton of drawers. I do recommend these, just keep in mind that by the time you combine shipping, these are not cheap.
Finally for the things that I could not fit in the 5 drawer set, I knew I needed some larger drawers. At the time Muji was out of stock on their 2 drawers. So I then set out to find something similar that I could use to store more bulky items. I was watching the YouTube channel Eleventh Gorgeous, and saw that both of the girls use these 3 drawer sets that they got off amazon. Luckily in on of their makeup collection videos, they linked in the down bar where I could find them. So I clicked the link and ended up getting 2 of these 3 drawer sets. I personally love that they have a knob so that I can pull out the drawers. In these drawers I have everything from small eye palettes to Revlon Color stay Whipped Foundations. These drawers are super deep and can easily hold most of my bulky products.
So now I guess you want to see the final product right? Well I had posted a few of these pictures about a week ago on Instagram, but no one until to day had seen it all of the pictures. Keep in mind that I am not bragging about my collection what so ever, I am a makeup artist on the side and so I need this volume of makeup. Plus makeup is my hobby and I personally love trying new products. This is not all of my collection, I do have a long drawer in my desk that has some stuff. However, I just wanted to show you how I used the items that I purchased to store my makeup collection.
